​Everyone has a place where their soul grows roots.  The North Country is mine, a land wolves, loons and black bear also call home.  A land where some of my ancestors have lived for generations as well.  Living in the maple and pine, the juneberry and wild cherry, there's so much beauty and wild gifts to celebrate.  

Looking at a map one day, it surprised me how narrow a band we have left of this forest.  Rivers and creeks, inland lakes and the largest freshwater lakes on Earth all help make it special.

It's all this along with family, old-fashioned romance in a modern time, and the amazing stories history holds that make me want to write.  Putting on paper a little bit of the sweetness of life and the magic of the world? That, for me, gets to the heart of things.​​
