In Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, little known fantasy writer Ravyn Shaunessy is content to traipse about the boundless world of the imagination safe and cozied in her writing garret with her sweet, slightly mysterious muse-like cat and a little bit of chocolate.
But when a company interested in ancient mythologies buys out her publisher, she finds herself pushed into the outside world and partnered with a handsome, enigmatic new coworker, the French Canadian photographer Damien Le Sauvage. Together they must unravel mysteries from thousands of years ago, ones rooted in stories from cultures long lost to the march of modernity.
Others are watching, however, their intentions anything but friendly.
The first in a series, Wild Magic is an easy-paced story blending contemporary times, folklore and ancient history with a celebration of the beauty found in the woods and wilds all around us.

The story developed with a layering of intrigue that kept me turning pages. The whimsical humor was a surprise and appreciated. Thrilled to know it’s the first of a series. Highly recommend!

When local legend Slade Daggett returns to the enchanting little town of Cranberry Falls in the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, newcomer and nature photographer Natalie Reid finds herself tangled in a web of neighborly intrigue and romantic schemes with which she, as a single mom intent on remaining both focused on her young son and romantically independent the rest of her life, wants no further acquaintance.
But will a run-in with wolves along the famously wild and rugged Pictured Rocks shoreline be just the thing to change her mind?
Probably not.
A Cranberry Falls novel, Stories the River Knows brings readers into the small U.P. community of Cranberry Falls and the surrounding landscape to which it belongs. It’s a story about love...of family, of the land, and of a romance that everyone - with the notable exception of the couple in question - thinks was meant to be.
